Are you spending your money wisely?

Spending money wisely

MEETINGS 2014 has been and gone. During the event Tourism Marketing Solutions enjoyed a constant flurry of people coming and going from the TMS ‘luxury lounge.’ This led to some really interesting conversations with a broad range of suppliers. Two note worthy topics seemed to come up again and again so we thought we would address them here. They both relate to where you spend most of your money.

Sales and marketing
Strange don’t you think? Let me be more specific. For whatever reason there are a number of companies recruiting for new sales staff right now. People are on the move and finding replacements is no easy task. Then, on the marketing side of the equation a number of businesses are still working with tight budgets and although the purse strings are loosening businesses are questioning how they spend their money and whether it’s in the right places.

Fear factor
Losing good staff in the middle of a major project or critical deal puts the fear in most managers. How can we replace them? When can we replace them? I don’t have time to replace them!…are all major concerns. So, how do you keep the wheels of commerce turning at such a time of uncertainty and staff shortage?

There’s a hole in my bucket!
It might feel that way when you see your money trickling out of the hole with no idea where it is going or even whether it’s a wise spend of a very limited resource. Sometimes it pays to plug that hole until you get a handle on the real situation. In fact, we suggested to a couple of companies at MEETINGS to plug that hole in the interim while we helped them sort it out.

Rapid release
Yes it does sound like you need to take an aspirin but this is where TMS steps in and why we can help in both these situations.

1. Sales staff – we hit the ground running, on your behalf, to keep the sales process in motion while you recruit and train new staff
2. Marketing – we review and analyse where you’re spending your money and ascertain whether you are getting the best bang for your buck.

A wise decision
Why risk losing a deal that has been six months in negotiation because a staff member has left? Why spend money on exhibiting at a major trade show when a smaller event, attracting smaller corporate meetings, that doesn’t cost as much, may be a better fit for you? This is what we do. This is why TMS are in business. To fill in the gaps: to give you time to breathe without losing momentum or spending more hard to find cash.

We’re serious, are you spending your money wisely?
Are you? Given all the recent conversations we realise recruiting sales staff is a long and costly process, and maximising spend is, well expensive, especially when it’s spent in all the wrong places. If, even for a second, these issue resonate with you please call us, we’re serious, we want to help, but only you can ask for it.
