Back to business in CHC

Ōtautahi Christchurch recently hosted TRENZ Hui 2021 – bringing together over 700 tourism industry professionals, collaborating together in a range of interactive sessions and creating a roadmap for the sector for the coming 18 months. This event was held at the Christchurch Town Hall – owned and managed by Venues Ōtautahi. This is a stunning venue and a key part of the new central city of Christchurch and the business events offering in the city.

The ChristchurchNZ Convention Bureau team are gearing up for BEIA’s MEETINGS tradeshow in Auckland in early June. Prior to this, the city is hosting a pre-famil for both Australian and New Zealand clients. This is an opportunity to showcase the new city of Christchurch and key conference infrastructure – particularly with the opening of Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centrelater this year.

The Bureau is focused on Christchurch’s knowledge economy. “We have a huge talent pool of world-leading sector experts, and we will look to bid for new international and Australasian conference opportunities, as well as small to medium-sized business events into the city,” says Claire Hector‑Taylor, Convention Bureau Manager.
