A recently commissioned delegate survey by Business Events Wellington (BEW) has revealed the many positive aspects of meeting in the capital. Ninety seven percent of participants said they enjoyed Wellington as a conference destination with walkability and access among the main reasons.
“I’ve been there several times for conferencing, and it exceeds expectations every time – Wellington is the ‘best little city in the world’, said one delegate. Another said: “I have attended many conferences in Wellington and it’s a great place to hold them, it’s easy to get around and central for those travelling”.
Conference organisers have also talked about how easy it is to plan a conference in Wellington. As one organiser put it: “Our attendees, who came from all over the world, fell in love with the city. They could easily stay within walking distance of our venues, which made it easy for quick coffee meetings between events and enjoyed the beautiful waterfront. We loved having so many options for places to host our dinners, parties, workshops, happy hours, and other events – it was a joy to plan.”
Another conference organiser talked about the overwhelming positive feedback from delegates. “The attendees were thrilled to see each other, and Te Papa did an exceptional job hosting us – Wellington provided a thriving city centre with brilliant weather (thank you!) and a lively, positive atmosphere that everyone enjoyed.”
